ABAKALIKI – Christians of Edda Clan in Ebonyi State are set to converge for a three-day covenant prayer programme aimed at seeking God's mercy, promoting unity among the people, and praying for the restoration of the clan's perceived lost glory.
The spiritual gathering, scheduled to hold from August 6 to August 8, 2026, is being organised under the auspices of the United Edda Front for Christ, a proposed non-denominational Christian movement committed to fostering spiritual revival, peace, and development in Edda.
According to the organisers, the prayer summit, themed "Oh! God, Have Mercy and Restore Our Lost Glory," is expected to bring together ministers of the gospel, Christian faithful, traditional rulers, youths, women, political leaders, and other stakeholders from across the Edda community.
The three-day programme will commence on Thursday, August 6, with a night vigil for dedicated Edda Christians at St. Paul's Reformed Presbyterian Church, Ejikewu Amoso Edda, beginning at 10 p.m.
On Friday, August 7, prominent Edda men of God, alongside traditional rulers and political leaders, will lead special sessions of declarations, intercession, repentance, and prayers for peace, unity, and the progress of the clan.
The event will climax on Saturday, August 8, with a grand interdenominational thanksgiving and covenant service, where participants are expected to renew their commitment to God and seek divine intervention for the future of Edda.
Speaking ahead of the programme, the organisers said the prayer initiative was inspired by the need to unite Christians across denominational lines and place the destiny of Edda before God amid prevailing social, economic, and leadership challenges.
They urged all sons and daughters of Edda, irrespective of church affiliation or political persuasion, to participate actively in the programme, expressing confidence that collective prayers would usher in a new era of peace, reconciliation, progress, and divine restoration for the clan.
The organisers described the covenant prayer as a historic spiritual gathering and appealed to participants to attend with faith, humility, and a genuine desire to seek God's face for the transformation and advancement of Edda.
The organisers are also appealing for both physical and financial support to ensure the successful execution of the prayer programme. Donations can be made to the following account:
