Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Government Campaign Flag-off scheduled for August 5 in Edda Local Government Area, stakeholders of Ogbu Ward have resolved to mobilise massively for the event, expressing confidence that the party will record a landslide victory in the forthcoming council election.
The resolution was reached during a stakeholders' meeting held at the residence of Dr. Okoro Uchenna in Ogbu Village, where party leaders, ward executives, women and youth leaders, as well as members from across the ward, reviewed preparations for the campaign and strategised on ensuring maximum participation.
Speaking during the meeting, the Convener and Chairman of the Ogbu Ward APC Campaign Committee, Dr. Okoro Uchenna, said the ward was fully prepared to deliver overwhelming support for the APC, urging members to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the official flag-off.
He described the August 5 campaign as a significant moment for the party in Edda, stressing that every eligible voter and supporter should turn out in large numbers to demonstrate the ward's commitment to the APC and its candidates.
Dr. Okoro also commended the leadership of Governor Francis Nwifuru for what he described as people-oriented governance and sustained infrastructural development across Ebonyi State, assuring that Ogbu Ward would reciprocate the administration's achievements with massive electoral support.
According to him, the unity and commitment displayed by stakeholders at the meeting reflected the determination of party members to ensure victory for the APC in the forthcoming local government election.
The stakeholders unanimously resolved to embark on ward-wide mobilisation, house-to-house sensitisation and engagement with community leaders to ensure that party supporters participate fully in the campaign flag-off and the election.
They also reaffirmed their loyalty to the APC and pledged unwavering support for Governor Francis Nwifuru and the party's leadership at the state and local government levels.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by members to work together in strengthening the party's grassroots structure and ensuring that Ogbu Ward contributes significantly to the APC's expected victory in the August 22 local government election in Edda.
