The All Progressives Congress (APC) officially launched its campaign for the August 22, 2026, Local Government Council election in Edda Local Government Area on Wednesday, drawing a massive turnout of party faithful who pledged unwavering support for the party's candidates.
The rally, held at Nguzu Edda, brought together party leaders, stakeholders, women and youth groups, as well as hundreds of supporters who expressed confidence in the APC leadership ahead of the polls.
Speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the event, the Coordinator of Edda West Development Center, Hon. Jecklin Onwubiko, commended Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for what he described as visionary leadership and people-centered governance.
He said the governor has distinguished himself through the execution of numerous infrastructural projects and policies aimed at improving the living standards of residents across Ebonyi State.
According to Hon. Onwubiko, the Nwifuru administration has ushered in a new era of development by prioritizing critical sectors, including road infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, agriculture, and youth empowerment.
He noted that these interventions have ensured that the dividends of democracy are felt across communities in the state's 13 local government areas.
Describing the governor as a transformational leader, he added that his genuine love for the people is evident in the quality and spread of developmental projects across the state.
"The people of Edda are proud of Governor Nwifuru's remarkable achievements. His administration has touched every part of the state with meaningful projects, and we appreciate his commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development," he said.
Hon. Onwubiko assured the governor that the people of Edda would reciprocate the goodwill by delivering overwhelming support for APC candidates in the forthcoming council election scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026, and in subsequent elections.
