Skills for Success: Ebonyi State Concludes Training for 100 Youths














The Ebonyi State Government has concluded a skills acquisition program for 100 youths selected across the 13 Local Government Areas of the State.

The event followed a solidarity march by the beneficiaries through Abakaliki streets, expressing appreciation for the Governor's commitment to improving the living standards of Ebonyians.

Addressing the beneficiaries after the training, Governor Francis Nwifuru, represented by his Deputy, Princess Patricia Obila, commended them for their successful training and zeal to acquire self-reliance skills. 
He assured that the state government would continue to uplift the standard of living of the people, especially youths, for a better tomorrow.



The Governor announced that the youths would receive certificates of completion, equipment, and funds to support them in becoming self-reliant and employers of labor in their various vocations on November 15, 2025.


The State Commissioner for Skill Development and Job Creation, Mr. Elijah Okwu-Oko, appreciated the Governor for approving the training program, which would boost the economy, reduce crime and unemployment, and promote entrepreneurship. He noted that the three-month intensive training had equipped the youths with necessary skills and knowledge in various industries.

"The training covered skills such as ICT web design, video editing, construction, solar installation, pop and paint production, furniture and wall cladding, wig making, makeup, perfume production, candle, and interior design".

The Commissioner stated that the program was a bold statement of the administration's commitment to empowering young people with practical, market-driven skills. "Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Ebonyi State has placed human capital development at the very heart of its governance agenda," he said.

One of the resource persons, Mrs. Nwachi Genevieve, emphasized that skills are the new currency for success, enabling youths to become self-reliant and achieve their goals.
