Ebonyi Works Commissioner, Mbam Marks Birthday with Transformer Commissioning, Empowerment Packages

The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Works, Chief Stanley Lebechi Mbam, marked his birthday on Friday with acts of service to his people, commissioning a 300KVA transformer and extending empowerment packages to members of his Nkaleke Unuphu community in Abakaliki Local Government Area.

The transformer, installed along Okwase Road, was commissioned by former Commissioner for Works, Engr. Chukwuma Nwandugo, in the presence of top political leaders and stakeholders, including the lawmaker representing Abakaliki North State Constituency, Dr. Victor Nwoke; APC Chairman in Abakaliki LGA, Chief Paulinus Atam; Coordinator of Ebonyi Development Centre, Dr. Destiny Nwodom; Members of MSL Tennis Club and MSL Support group for FON and the State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Douglas Ochishi.

As part of the celebration, Mbam, through his Mbam Stanley Lebechi (MSL) Foundation, donated two motorcycles to community security operatives and distributed cash gifts to over 20 beneficiaries. Another batch of men and women also received financial support.

Speaking during the occasion, the Works Commissioner said his gestures were guided by divine inspiration and aligned with Governor Francis Nwifuru’s “People’s Charter of Needs” policy agenda.

“My focus is on electricity, water, health, security, and empowerment. These are some of the basic needs of our people, and I am committed to addressing them,”

"Today it’s motorcycles, tomorrow it may be cars. This is my modest contribution to supporting the Governor’s commitment to the people of Ebonyi State,” Mbam said.

Other speakers, including the Chairman MSL Tennis Club, Comrade Uchenna Obodo; the National Coordinator MSL Support Group for FON, Comrade Nkwede Linus LINCO; the lawmaker representing Abakaliki North State Constituency, Dr. Victor Nwoke; the SSA to Governor on Security Ebonyi South, Hon Okenwa Uka ( Senator) and others, hailed the Commissioner as a philanthropist with unmatched generosity, praying for divine wisdom and strength for him.

The event featured the formal commissioning of the 300KVA transformer, handover of motorcycles to security operatives, and distribution of empowerment packages to beneficiaries, attracting a large turnout of women, youths, and community members who joined in celebrating Mbam.
