The Omezua Edda for FON, a socio-political organisation in Edda Clan of Ebonyi State, has hailed the emergence of Hon. John Okoro Uka as the Leader of the Edda Local Government Area Legislative Council.
The group described Uka’s emergence as a significant development capable of strengthening cooperation, peace and effective representation in the council.
The Coordinator of Omezua Edda for FON, Hon. Okoro Orji Patrick, stated this while speaking with journalists shortly after the inauguration of the 11 councillors and the emergence of Uka as the legislative leader at Nguzu Edda.
Patrick congratulated Okoro Uka on his emergence, expressing confidence in his character and ability to provide mature leadership in the legislative council.
He said Okoro Uka was known for his humility and respect for political leaders, qualities he noted would be valuable in promoting harmony between the legislative and executive arms of the council.
“Okoro Uka, as I know him, is not an arrogant person. I have never seen him insult leaders. I strongly believe that he will support the Executive Chairman to build peace and unity in Edda Clan,” Patrick said.
The Omezua for FON Coordinator urged the new legislative leader to see his emergence as a call to service and to place the interests of the people above personal and political considerations.
He also appealed to the newly inaugurated councillors to work collectively with Okoro Uka and the Executive Chairman of Edda LGA, Hon. Simeon Oko Onuoha, in order to promote good governance and accelerate development across the council area.
Patrick stressed that unity between the legislative and executive arms was essential to achieving meaningful development, urging all political stakeholders in Edda to support the new council leadership.
He expressed optimism that Uka’s leadership of the legislative council would contribute to political stability, peaceful coexistence and effective representation in Edda LGA.
