Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Governor of Ebonyi State.
"Barely one year after flagging off the historic scholarship programme that sponsored 745 Ebonyi students for advanced studies—204 to the United Kingdom and 541 within Nigeria—the results are already resounding across global platforms, even though the full academic cycle has not yet been completed.
"alome’s record-breaking exploits at the University of Greater Manchester, where she has emerged as an award-winning researcher, a historic multi-IEEE-published scholar, founder of the University’s first-ever Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group, member of the University’s Wall of Fame, first Nigerian woman to lead an IEEE Student Branch at the institution, and a globally recognised AI expert invited to train staff at the World Trade Organization (WTO), stand as undeniable proof that Governor Nwifuru’s investment in quality education is yielding life-changing and community-transforming outcomes.
"Her story reflects the true essence of the Governor’s People-Oriented Agenda, which prioritises education as a tool for empowerment, poverty reduction, and global competitiveness. From a young Ebonyi woman from Ngbo, Ohaukwu LGA whose aspiration saw the light of the day through the Scholarship of Governor FON, Salome has become an international beacon of excellence—thanks to a visionary government that believes that the sons and daughters of ordinary families deserve extraordinary opportunities.
'Her accomplishments echo the Governor’s conviction that when young people are given access to the best education, mentorship, and global exposure, they transcend limitations and become agents of innovation and development for their families, communities, state, and nation.
"As the Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Affairs, I proudly celebrate this inspiring success story and commend His Excellency for building a future where Ebonyi scholars stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s brightest minds.
"Indeed, this is the new face of Ebonyi State—a state where investment in human capital is producing global trailblazers and rewriting our collective narrative.
'His Excellency’s commitment to education is not just a policy; it is a generational legacy, and Salome Enoshi Uwah is one of its shining proofs"
