Group lauds Governor Nwifuru for recruiting 1,936 teachers

The Mbam Stanley Lebechi, MSL Support Group for FON, a socio‑political organisation in Ebonyi State, has commended Governor Francis Nwifuru for the recruitment and posting of 1,936 new teachers for both primary and secondary schools across the state.

In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by the National Coordinator, Comrade Nkwede Linus, and the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. David Uka, the group said the recruitment of new teachers would address the problem of inadequate manpower in the education sector and promote teaching and learning.

“This is part of the Governor’s comprehensive strategy to improve the quality of education and address the long‑standing shortage of teachers in public schools,” the statement read.

The group appreciated the governor for prioritising education and human‑capital development as encapsulated in his People’s Charter of Needs agenda. It noted that the initiative underscores Governor Nwifuru’s commitment to repositioning the state’s education system, describing it as a visionary step toward lasting educational reform.

“Your disposition towards turning the tide of the education system of Ebonyi State remains unprecedented and unmatched, not only in the annals of recruitment history of our dear state in recent times but also across the entire states of the Federation.”

“Your Excellency, Sir, your achievements in the education sector since assumption of office, particularly the successful recruitment of 1,936 teachers, will, without doubt, have a significant impact in our classrooms and enhance educational service delivery to our schoolchildren.”

According to the group, the decision will yield both immediate and long‑term benefits for the state.

“Your Excellency’s action demonstrates focus, accountability, and a genuine concern for the future of Ebonyi’s youth. You are not just improving today’s classrooms; you are building the foundation for the state’s long‑term prosperity.”

The group assured the governor of undiluted support for his administration and called on Ebonyians at large to keep supporting his administration's initiatives to encourage him in the delivery of good governance.
