Tinubu's Aide to Lead S-East Leaders in Brainstorming on FG's Tax Reform Act





The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on community engagement for the South East, Mrs Chioma Nweze is set to lead a stakeholders' town hall meeting to discuss the federal government's tax reform act and compliance awareness. 

The meeting, themed "Tax Reform Acts and Compliance: Impact on Small and Medium Enterprises in the South East," aims to boost the region's economic development 

Nweze in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Abakaliki, said that the Minister of Works, David Umahi, governors and other prominent leaders of the region will be in attendance to brainstorm on the tax reform act and compliance awareness.

She stated further that, Chambers of Commerce Leaders, small and medium enterprises, national assembly members, State assembly members, ministers and state commissioners, traditional rulers, and Market women from the five states in the Southeast will also be in attendance.

The town hall meeting, scheduled to hold at Dome International Conference Centre in Enugu, will address challenges facing small and medium enterprises in the region. 

The Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zach Adedeji, will be the chief host, while ministers, national assembly members, and governors from the five states will be guests of honor.


The federal government has initiated tax reform bills to streamline taxation, eliminate nuisance taxes, and create a unified taxpayer database. The reforms aim to support small businesses, reduce tax burdens, and enhance economic growth.

The meeting is expected to provide valuable insights into the tax reform act and its impact on small and medium enterprises in the South East. By fostering dialogue and understanding, the meeting aims to promote compliance and support economic development in the region
