Ebonyi govt empowers 100 youths with Skill acquisition programme

The Ebonyi State Government has launched a skills acquisition program for 100 youths selected from across the 13 Local Government Areas of the State.
 
The program, flagged off by Governor Francis Nwifuru at the Re-Meritona Hotel and Suites in Abakaliki, aims to equip young people with modern skills to reduce joblessness and promote economic growth in line with the people's charter of needs manifesto.

The training will last for three months, covering various skills such as ICT, Interior Design, and Social Media Management.

urged the beneficiaries to remain focus as to make living with the knowledge gained after the training.

The governor who was represented by the Speaker, Ebonyi state House of Assembly, Moses Ije-Ounwa emphasized the government's commitment to reducing unemployment among youths, citing the program as a more sustainable approach than simply providing cash handouts.


The state Commissioner for Skill Development and Job Creation, Mr Elijah Okwu-Oko who appreciated the state governor for approving the training said the program is expected to contribute to the state's economic development by reducing unemployment and promoting entrepreneurship

He further said the training will equip youths with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in various industries and urged participants to take the training seriously and avoid absenteeism. 

"Today's event is more than a ceremony; it is a bold statement of this administration's  unwavering commitment to empowering our young people with practical, market-driven skills in ICT, building technology, production, entrepreneurship, and other critical sectors of our economy.
Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Ebonyi State has placed human capital development at the very heart of its governance agenda". 


A facilitator and Entrepreneur who is the CEO Geolanor Interior Studio, Mrs Nwachi Genevieve Oluchi  emphasized that skills are the new currency for success, enabling youths to become self-reliant and achieve their goals.
